Austin Shirley: Franchisee & Creative Director
A valued member of TONI&GUY’s award winning Artistic Team has recently moved back to his native Scotland to spearhead TONI&GUY Edinburgh. Epitomising the company philosophy that combines teamwork and talent, he’s set to revolutionise the Scottish side of this internationally renowned company.
With 18 years experience in the industry, Austin started his career with TONI&GUY in Glasgow, almost ten years ago before heading to London to join the Internationally renowned TONI&GUY Artistic Team where his flair for teaching was soon recognised with him progressing to Head of Staff Training.
A regular at shows and seminars, Austin travelled extensively teaching TONI&GUY’s successful combination of artistry and practical know how in countries such as Italy, Finland, Sweden and The Ukraine. Austin also played a key role in the development of the product ranges for both TONI&GUY signature haircare and Insights ranges.
More than just an educator, Austin’s creativity has been notably acknowledged within the wider arena of hairdressing, having been nominated twice for the British Hairdressing Awards as ‘Scottish Hairdresser of the Year’ in 1997 and ‘Men’s Hairdresser of the Year’ in 2002.
Anna Shirley: Director & HR Advisor
Anna adds to this talented mix over seven years experience in Human Resources gained in numerous industries. With great communication and people skills Anna’s warm nature and head for business has helped to create a hugely successful salon, with a highly motivated team.
A Social Sciences Graduate and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development, she compliments Austin’s creativity with her own flavour of expertise.
Christina Carroll: Head Receptionist & Apprentice Hairdresser
Assistant Manager Christina, the salon leprechaun, is originally from Ireland. She is very creative and she loves suprises.
Luke Cotton: Senior Technician
An excellent Technical Trainer within the salon, Luke joins the team from Shetland. He can't stand rudeness and describes his style as 'geek chic'
Eve Manders: Senior Technician & Art Director
Assistant Manager Eve, is a master of cutting and colouring hair. She likes to be treated like a princess and she also has a tortoise called Tallulah who, it turns out, is a boy.
Suzanne Law: Senior Technician & Stylist
Despite having lived in Phoenix, Arizona, Suzanne joined the Edinburgh team and is renowned for her avant garde style of hairdressing. She's a huge fan of Noel Fielding and hates heights.
Gillian Solley: Style Director
Born in Edinburgh, Gillian loves all aspects of her job. A keen party girl she loves nothing more than a day shopping followed by a night clubbing.
Gemma Anderson: Style Director (works Tuesday & Saturday's only)
Originally from Scotland, Gemma spent many years as a hairdresser in London, working with our sister company, essensuals. Gemma is warm and lively character, a real fashionista with a new Mum!
Sharon Wong: Technician & Top Stylist
Sharon is your girl if you're looking for a dramatic change as she loves re-inventing clients hairstyles and is an enthusiastic shopper - like most girls!
Amanda Caddow: Technician & Stylist
Not to blow her own trumpet but Amanda is a fantastic colourist as well as a huge chocolate lover! Spiders are her biggest pet hate.
Stephanie Morgan: Technician & Stylist
Steph is currently treking around the globe and will return on August 1st
Michael Hamilton: Stylist
Michael is great at blow-drying so if you have a special occasion be sure to book in with our resident pro who loves nothing more than being out in the sunshine.
Carly Devlin: Apprentice Hairdresser
Carly creates effortlessly sleek blow-dries and while she loves going out at the weekend she hates the inevitable hangover that come with it.
Laura Brady: Apprentice Hairdresser
Fantastic at giving truly relaxing head massages Laura spends her free time indulging her shopping habit but would never class herself as an early bird as she hates getting up early!
Holly Thompson: Apprentice Hairdresser
Positive and friendly Holly from West Lothian hates rainy days so longs for being able to spend lots of time in the sun this summer with friends.
Rachel McAdam: Apprentice Hairdresser
Another Edinburgh girl, Rachel is always keen to chat with clients and regularly enjoys one of Scotland's favourite drinks - Iron Bru!
Laura Riganti: Assistant (Part Time)
Born in Edinburgh but also half Italian, Laura can't stand ignorance, dull weather or feet and claims to be amazing when it comes to head massages!
All our hairdressers are qualified to Toni&Guy’s internationally renowned high standards. Some of our hairdressers specialise in either cutting or colouring hair, whilst others offer the full range of services. All our team members benefit from ongoing training from the Toni&Guy International Art Team, and L’Oreal Professionnel who provide our technical colouring products.
Our team members are very friendly, as well as being hairdressing experts, so we can promise to offer you a very warm welcome.
